Indian weddings are celebrated with dance, music, decorations, rituals and costumes depending on which region the bride and the groom are from. Preparations are done from before to celebrate the wedding. The celebrations last for a few days.

There are different rituals in the wedding. There is mehendi, sangeet, wedding ceremony and the reception. Though the rituals vary based on the region. The pre-wedding ceremonies include engagement and the arrival of the groom family at the bride’s residence. The post wedding ceremonies include welcoming the bride in the new home.
The dress for the bride are lenghas and sarees and the guest also dress up modestly. For men the dress is suits or sherwani. Sometimes families go for the western wear. The colour of the clothes is bright and red is for the bride. The important part is the jewellery. Bangles, necklaces, gold chains with pendant, bindis, earrings and tikkas.
